Mirror Image

This is the only way to keep her from seeing
The voice inside my head
We all have one
The one that tells you lie after lie
Mine hides in the mirror
In the corner of my eyes
Her smile unnaturally wide
Eyes a glowing violet hue
She’s destructive , chaotic, beautiful
Her whispers can be ignored
She easily can be pushed back
Life is often much louder
Friends and Family drown her ou
Locked away in the darkest portion of my mind
There are times when she gets louder
You aren’t good enough
You’re a burden to your friends
You are selfish
I am better that you in every way
I stare at her
Maybe she’s right
Maybe she’s not
Everyone has flaws
Everyone has a reflection
But there is still light
Your friends can drown them out
They are nothing but figments
Imaginary enemies
We are have those voices in our heads
Its just the choice to ignore them
Push them in the recesses of your subconscious
For you are the one in control
Use them to your advantage
Make their claims invalid
You are perfectly imperfect
Never forget that
